WrestleMania 39 is just around the corner. The event will take place at SoFi Stadium in Inglewood, California, and will feature some of the biggest names in wrestling history.
One of the most anticipated matches of the two night event is the Undisputed WWE Universal Championship match between Roman Reigns and Cody Rhodes. Reigns has been dominating SmackDown since winning against Brock Lesnar and forming the WWE Undisputed Universal Championship. Aligning himself with Paul Heyman and his cousins The Usos, he has defeated challengers like Jey Uso, Kevin Owens, Daniel Bryan, Edge, Finn Balor, Brock Lesnar and Drew McIntyre.
The match between Reigns and Rhodes will be historic for several reasons. It will be the first time that a WWE Universal Champion will face an ex-AEW star on WWE’s biggest stage. It will also be a clash of two wrestling dynasties: Reigns is part of the Anoa’i family that includes legends like The Rock, Rikishi and Umaga; while Rhodes is the son of Dusty Rhodes and brother of Dustin Rhodes (Goldust). Both men have a lot to prove: Reigns wants to cement his legacy as “The Tribal Chief” and “The Head of The Table”, while Rhodes wants to show that he can hang with WWE’s best.
